Saucepan – a pot you can't do without in your kitchen
One of the indispensable items in any kitchen is a saucepan, which is a special pot designed for cooking milk, sauces, melting butter, and sometimes even for frying. Its distinguishing feature is a single long handle, which makes it much easier to handle the pot. This pot can be bought as part of a whole pot set or separately. Cast iron, aluminum, or stainless steel saucepan?
Saucepans are made from various materials. Stainless steel pots are the most popular, as they excel at conducting and retaining heat, boast exceptional durability, resistance to damage and scratches, and are easy to maintain. It's worth noting that food prepared in a stainless steel saucepan doesn't stick to the bottom or burn. A properly used stainless steel pot will serve anyone for many years to come.
Equally popular are lightweight and handy aluminum saucepans, which heat up very quickly and retain heat perfectly, allowing for faster cooking and thus saving time and energy. Aluminum pots are usually coated with a non-stick layer protecting the saucepan from quick wear, damage, scratches, or abrasions.
Also noteworthy are cast iron and enamel saucepans. Vessels made of natural material, such as cast iron, are characterized by high resistance to mechanical damage, scratches, or abrasion. They are heavy and take a long time to heat up, but they distribute heat evenly and maintain a high food temperature for a long time. On the other hand, enamel pots are among the healthiest vessels, because enamel has antibacterial properties, does not release harmful substances, and does not alter the taste of food. The advantage of these types of pots is their traditional, yet eye-catching appearance.
