If you only associate cleavers with B-grade horror films, we want to fight for their good name. Kitchen cleavers are very useful (and not at all scary) knives. They have a specific rectangular shape and a wide, sharp blade. They are usually made of durable and rust-resistant stainless steel with additives. Cleavers are usually used to cut meat and bones, less often vegetables or fruit (here we would rather recommend a chef's knife or specialised knives for vegetables and fruit).
