Just a few simple ingredients and a quarter of an hour are all it takes to enjoy the taste of homemade, perfectly thin, and super crispy pizza. Dough Ingredients:

  • 200g wheat flour
  • 150ml water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp herbs de Provence
  • salt

Other Ingredients:

  • tomato sauce
  • mini mozzarella balls
  • black olives
  • cherry tomatoes
  • fresh basil

Preparation:

  • Place the dough ingredients in a bowl and knead into a smooth, elastic dough.
  • Divide the dough into 2 parts. On a floured surface, roll it out as thinly as you possibly can.
  • Grease a coated pan with a small amount of olive oil. If you have an induction hob in your kitchen, remember to use an appropriate induction-compatible pan.
  • Place one rolled-out dough disc on the still cold pan.
  • Place the pan on the hob over medium heat. Fry the dough on one side until it starts to brown and becomes firmer, then flip it over. Quickly spread with tomato sauce, arrange the toppings: mozzarella cheese, olives cut in half, and cherry tomatoes, and cover with a lid. Fry the pizza until the bottom is browned, the toppings are warm, and the cheese is melted.
  • Repeat the same process with the second dough disc.

Pan Pizza with Fresh Yeast – A Tried and Tested Recipe

Pizza without an oven? It’s possible! What’s more, a pan pizza made with fresh yeast is every bit as good as its traditional counterpart, which is baked at high temperatures in an oven.

Dough Ingredients:

  • 15g fresh yeast
  • 0.5 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 75ml warm water
  • 1.5 tbsp rapeseed oil
  • a pinch of salt

Other Ingredients:

  • your favourite pizza sauce
  • mushrooms
  • peppers
  • ham
  • mozzarella cheese
  • onion
  • dried oregano

Preparation:

  • Crumble the yeast into a small bowl, add sugar and 2 tablespoons of warm water. Mix and set aside in a warm place for about 10 minutes for the yeast to get to work.
  • In a bowl, combine the flour, oil, salt, water, and the yeast mixture. Knead into a smooth and elastic dough. Set the bowl with the pizza dough aside in a warm place for about 30 minutes to rise a little.
  • Roll out the risen pan pizza dough quite thinly, aiming for a circle with a diameter similar to the size of your frying pan.
  • Transfer the pizza to a ceramic or aluminium pan and fry over medium heat for about 5 minutes, covered. After this time, flip the dough, spread with sauce, and arrange the toppings: sliced and pre-fried mushrooms (this prevents them from releasing too much water onto the pizza), diced peppers, strips of ham and mozzarella, and onion cut into feathers. Sprinkle the whole thing with oregano. Cover the pizza with a lid and fry over low heat for another 5 minutes.

So, while we're in the mood for Italian cuisine, you might be interested in FormAdore Magazine: How to Prepare Pasta? An Italian Delicacy in 5 Ways, where we present tried and tested delicious ideas for pasta dishes, most of which are also prepared in a frying pan.

A grill pan or a steak pan is indispensable for fat-free meat preparation, a wok pan is used for Asian cuisine, a pancake pan, as the name suggests, is designed for frying delicious pancakes, and an oven-safe pan allows for baking and gratining various dishes. And what kind of pan will come in handy for preparing pizza? Ideally, a non-stick one (though, as you can see, in most recipes, we still recommend greasing the pan with a small amount of olive oil before frying the dough) that distributes heat evenly.

Choosing a WMF frying pan or another renowned brand guarantees a perfect pan pizza that is just as delicious as oven-baked pizza, and its undeniable advantage is its speed and simplicity. Just a few simple ingredients, a quarter of an hour of your time, and a good quality frying pan are all you need to savour the taste of this Italian delicacy.
