The Japanese Santoku knife is gaining popularity in European kitchens. How do you recognise it? It usually has a blade of 14 to 18 centimetres and a specific shape that looks a bit like a chef's knife and a bit like a small cleaver. Its great advantage is that it is very versatile - you can cut fish and meat with it, but also shred vegetables and fruit without any problems. Some models also have specific notches on the blade that prevent food from sticking and make slicing easier. Let's make use of this beautiful Asian invention!
