The Dressed tableware series is part of an extremely wide-ranging collection designed by Marcel Wanders for the Alessi brand. The Dutch-born designer has made the Dressed collection one of his trademarks. A characteristic feature of the products in this line is the use of ornaments in an unconventional way, by applying them in unusual places, sometimes completely out of sight of the users. This unusual approach makes interacting with the Dutchman's objects an experience that relates to both the sense of sight and touch. Marcel Wanders' designs are elegant and light, yet full of richness, floral motifs and baroque splendour. The Dressed collection includes porcelain tableware, trays, glasses and pots.
The breakfast plate shown here is part of the Dressed collection dedicated to everyday, yet exquisite breakfasts. The Baroque motifs characteristic of the collection surround a place for a cup of coffee or tea, an egg glass and a little something - a sandwich, cake, etc. The additional space can also be used as a saucer for a lemon, a tea bag or a place for a brewer, shells, etc. NOTE: The product shown here is a plate only - without the cup shown in the photo.
