For years, the German design duo Jehs+Laub has been designing attractive and often visionary utilitarian objects that are ahead of their time. The results of the collaboration between the two practically always meet with recognition and appreciation all over the world. This is hardly surprising, since their acquaintance began with entrance examinations to the Academy of Fine Arts, where Markus and Laub sat next to each other.
The Stelton wall clock presented here is the quintessential example of what the work of the German designers stands for. Going completely outside the box is reflected in the design of the clock. Instead of a traditional case and clock face, there is a rotating rim to which the minute hand has been connected, casting a gentle shadow on the wall. The extreme minimalism of the design gives the impression that time is slowly passing on the wall - just as the shadow of the hand is slowly moving.
