The history of the Semikolon (German for 'semicolon') brand dates back to 1988, when
Günther Dezlhofer started selling the first collections of notebooks and paper boxes in the Starnberger Lake area of Bavaria. Their trademark was the single-colour fabric cover - and this feature became the hallmark of the German company, which in 2014 joined the brand portfolio of the
Lighthouse Albenverlag concern, founded as a small family business in 1917.
The main idea behind Semikolon's paper products is
simplicity and a broad, modern colour palette. A specially designed colour system allows the collection to be continuously expanded with new products:
photo albums notebooks, folders, binders and boxes. In this way,
the company's products form harmonious sets that are worth showing off when displayed on a shelf or in a glass cabinet.
While the colours and the design used have changed over the years, to this day
many Semikolon products are still
manufactured according to traditional technologies. This demonstrates very clearly the timelessness of a brand that does not succumb to temporary trends. Semikolon is a modern classic.
