That was the conclusion reached by Emanuele Pizzolorusso, who works for the Palomar brand and is the designer of the Crumpled City map. The map presented here takes just two seconds to unfold and fold, thanks to a lightning-fast crushing and unfolding technique, and the material from which it is made is extremely robust and 100% waterproof. The original graphics, the pleasant feel of the material and the clear depiction of the most important streets of many world-famous cities are what have earned the Crumpled City project awards such as the XXIII Compasso D'Oro ADI Award Honorable Mention, the 2012 Design Plus Award and the European Consumer Choice Award. Each map additionally includes a list of the most important tourist sites included on the map and a list of Soulsights - places that will evoke particularly strong emotions and allow their visitors to feel like artists, poets or lovers, trapped in the most beautiful corners of the city.
