Philippe Starck was born in1949 and lives and works in Paris. He is one of the world's best-known and most respected designers. He is an extremely versatile artist. His realisations include, for example, the waste processing plant in Paris or the airport control tower in Bordeaux. But also smaller forms such as motorbikes or even toothpicks or toothbrushes. It deals with both mass-produced, everyday products, such as packaging for pasta, and exclusive and exceptional ones, such as the furniture for President Francois Miterrand for the Élysée Palace. He collaborates with many international companies, including Alessi, Duravit, Flos, Kartell, Puma, Samsonite, Vitra and many others. His work has won prestigious national awards and is part of the permanent collections of world-renowned museums in Prague, London, New York.
