La Cintura di Orione is a unique cookware set that combines the undisputed design mastery of Richard Sapper and the expertise of culinary celebrities from France and Italy. Alain Chapel, the Troisgros family, Raymond Thuilier, Roger Verge, Gualtiero Marchesi and Angelo Paracucchi are all chefs, gourmets and culinary authorities with whom Richard Sapper consulted on the optimum shape, dimensions and materials for the cookware. The result of the collaboration between culinary and design masters is an extremely elegant and practical dinnerware set with compelling aesthetic qualities. Some of the dishes are made of an extremely beautiful combination of polished copper and stainless steel, which mesmerises with its deep orange sheen.
Cast-iron baking pans are vessels with a very long history for stewing, roasting and preparing one-pot dishes. The choice of unusual material for the collection was made by the design consultant, restaurateur and acclaimed chef Raymond Thuilier. Heavy cast iron, which stores heat perfectly, allows unique effects to be achieved with the baking tray. The heavy lid is able to keep the steam inside the pot for a long time and the contents are heated evenly over a long period of time. Cast iron stores heat, allowing for ecological cooking - with energy savings.
