Create your own colourful furniture with the Danish brand Montana! The ambition of this innovative brand is to provide modular solutions that allow you to creatively design furniture to organise the space around you.

Brand Philosophy

Montana is a family-owned Danish company that was founded back in 1982. If we had to describe it in a few words, it would certainly be these:
MODULES. CREATIVITY. COLOUR.

The idea that guided the brand from the very beginning was to provide customers with personalised, high-quality furniture for storing and organising home and office spaces. The intention of the founder and chief designer, Peter J. Lassen, was to create modules that could be freely combined to create furniture tailored precisely to one's needs.

Montana creates possibilities, not solutions!

This is the brand's motto, and every day on the small Danish island of Funen, over 140 specialists work tirelessly to ensure that every element of a Montana shelf, desk, cabinet, and chair meets the highest standards. After all, this furniture is meant to last for generations! And hand in hand with perfection goes an ecological approach – Montana was one of the first European furniture brands to obtain the prestigious EU Ecolabel certificate, which confirms their deep care for the planet.

How it all began...

The creator of the Montana brand was Peter J. Lassen – a Danish designer who had been creating innovative furniture since the 1950s with legendary Scandinavian designers such as Arne Jacobsen and Verner Panton. Initially, nothing pointed to his future career – he was raised in a very conservative, large family, and his initial life path was service in the navy. Fortunately, thanks to his perseverance, he found his calling and dedicated his heart and soul to furniture design until the end of his life. Today, the company is run by subsequent generations, equally full of enthusiasm and wild ideas.

What was on Peter Lassen's mind?

Montana's creator wanted his customers to use their own imagination and create furniture from modules that would perfectly fit their needs, homes, and tastes. After all, designing your own furniture is a huge satisfaction!

Build furniture from modules

The whole idea of the Montana brand is based on the fact that we receive ready-made, colourful, high-quality modules that we can then freely combine, mixing shapes, colours, and accessories. Everything depends on us, and the only limit is our imagination!

Just as a sculptor starts with an abstract stone, I started with an abstract, square box. I removed what I considered unnecessary, leaving only rounded edges, fitted fronts, and a simple form full of colour – the DNA of the Montana brand.

How does it work?

The Montana system offers unlimited possibilities – you can choose from 36 modules, 4 depths, and 42 fashionable, carefully selected colours. The modules are made of high-quality 12 mm thick MDF board.

Interiors full of vibrant colours

Colours are paramount for the brand. According to Montana, colour is everything – it creates atmosphere, accentuates mood, inspires, stimulates, or calms. That's why they attach so much importance to the colour palette they use.

A little something for you!

Every 8 years, the brand introduces a new palette of poetic colours, created in collaboration with renowned colour experts such as Margarethe Odgaard. This famous colourist and alchemist has received numerous awards for her designs and is known for her saying: "Colours are light, and light is life!"

Significantly, from the very beginning of its operations, the brand has placed a strong emphasis on an ecological approach. For this reason, since 2007, it has exclusively used water-based lacquers that are odourless and do not contain harmful solvents.
