Board games are an immortal pastime. They have been with us for years, managing to survive even when shops were flooded by a wave of popular computer games. They are meant to entertain, and they do this very well. But their advantages do not end there. They teach children to be competitive, develop creative thinking and even foster family bonds. So what are we playing tonight?
When boredom strikes, we usually reflexively reach for the remote control and turn on our favourite programme. Even if we don't find anything interesting, the TV stays on to drown out the unbearable silence. Meanwhile, the negative impact of television on behaviour and the sleep of the youngest children is becoming more and more widely known.
Let's spend more time with our children doing activities that are more productive than watching TV or browsing the Internet.
Even watching seemingly innocuous cartoons for too long with toddlers can affect their development. Older children, on the other hand, very often copy inappropriate patterns or behaviours that they see on the glass screen. So what can we do to prevent our child from sitting for hours staring at a black box? Provide her with creative entertainment! Board games are not just about the 'Chinese' games that were popular years ago. You will be surprised by the wide choice and the huge range of alternatives.

Although computers are veritable marvels of technology, without which we can no longer imagine our daily lives, when it comes to children, it is also worth being careful with these boons. Undoubtedly, they can be used for entertainment, and they also help with learning. A computer game adapted to the age of the child is of course, not a bad thing. Just be careful that it doesn't become an everyday occurrence and that virtual friends don't replace those from the backyard. Give your child an interesting board game and invite friends to play together! Also reach for puzzles or building blocks, which exercise memory, reflexes and develop intellectual and manual skills.
Building blocks exercise concentration and improve manual skills.
Building wooden structures teaches the youngest children patience and concentration. And when the intricately built tower collapses, there will be no end to the laughter! Provide toddlers with great entertainment, thanks to which your little one will get a unique chance to integrate with their peers.

Nobody likes to lose, especially children. Stomping your toes and looking offended may be fun at first, but your child's inability to cope with defeat can quickly affect his behaviour. It is therefore worth explaining to him or her from an early age that winning may not always be ours. Honesty and fair play, however, cannot be taught in front of the television.
Play together and you will see how easy it is to move from fun to learning. If your child doesn't invite you to play hide-and-seek in the backyard, here's your chance to become the best companion for home games or playdates. Appreciate the time you spend together and nurture your bond and relationship. Find out that the essentials can be child's play.
