The first candlesticks appeared as far back as ancient times. They were mainly used for religious ceremonies. We can mention, for example, golden, seven-branched menorahs or nine-branched Hanukkiahs.

Known for centuries

They were most popular in the Middle Ages. Candelabra chandeliers were hung, multi-arm candelabras were placed and special wall chandeliers were mounted on the walls. Portable candlesticks were also widely used.

Nowadays, candlesticks have a purely decorative role. Many of them are inspired by the design of those used in former times, such as: Lumi, Double U, Design with Light Chamber and Weight here.

Classic and modern

The traditional material of choice for candle holders is metal. However, porcelain, ceramic, glass and even stone are also used in contemporary living arrangements. There is a suitable candleholder for every interior style:

Modern style - characterised by simple lines with geometric shapes. The basic colour palette is white, black, grey and beige. Metal candlesticks work well in such interiors.

Glamour style - is a very eclectic style, combining things which at first glance seem distant. A golden candle holder, for example, will find its perfect place in this style.

Scandinavian style - characterised by austerity. It is dominated by light colours - mainly white, and natural materials, such as wood, cotton, linen and wicker. In such an interior, we can place, among others, the simple, yet very attractive in its form Nero tealight candle holder.

Industrial style - metal accents are typical. For this reason, the WoodWick Core candle holder made of metal with oiled rubbed bronze colour will go well with this style. Other silver candle holders in our range are also a good choice.

Provençal style - is associated with warmth, softness and a cosy home. It uses airy, light curtains, soft linen napkins and fluffy blankets. The Tsé candle holder fits into this style.

For the table and for the fireplace

Candle holders are a very versatile decorative element. They can be used to decorate virtually anything. Large models even look beautiful on the floor.

For a festive dinner, slender candle holders for long candles that do not take up much space, such as the Festive, give a special atmosphere.

On the other hand, it is better to decorate fireplaces and dressers with lantern-like models, such as those from the Michalsky collection.

All types of candlesticks go well with other decorative elements: Vases, platters or baskets. We must admit that in this respect they are truly universal. It is only worthwhile to use a counterbalance when arranging such a composition, i.e. to place a tall candle holder next to a flat and wide fruit basket, for example, and one with a more squat shape next to a slender vase.
