Sleep allows us to rest and recuperate. It also has a beneficial effect on our nervous system, strengthens our immunity system, allows us to cope with stress and sort out our emotions. Are your partner at home snoring contentedly while you spend hours counting sheep in your head? We will tell you what to do to fall a sleep every evening.

Develop healthy habits

  1. Reduce stress!
    This
is the most important, and also the most difficult task. Stress has unfortunately become part of our lives - we change jobs, we have an important exam coming up, and we have a lot on our minds. Nerves are hard to avoid, so let's at least try to reduce them, for example by drinking a cup of relaxing tea. Excessive emotions make our sleep restless, we wake up during the night, and in the morning we get up before the alarm clock rings.
  2. Avoid naps
A short nap can give us energy and refresh our minds. However, if you have trouble falling asleep, don't go to bed during the day - it will only make things worse. So if you are tired in the afternoon, reach for a glass of water or go for a short walk.
  3. Fall asleep at the same time
Programme your body to sleep - always fall asleep at the same time, even at weekends. You'll quickly notice that your body will demand a night's rest at a specific time every day.
  4. Take a look at your diet
A heavy dinner can leave you rolling from side to side for hours. Keep your evening meal light, and give up even innocent snacks an hour before you go to bed.
  5. Forget caffeine
A morning coffee will get us on our feet, while an evening coffee can keep us on them until dawn. Even a small amount of caffeine disrupts sleep. It's not just coffee that's forbidden - avoid chocolate and Coca-Cola too.
  6. Choose your mattress
Choosing the right mattress is half the battle. A mattress that is too soft or too firm will deprive you of the necessary comfort and cause you to wake up in the morning with a sore back. Although the purchase of a mattress is more expensive, remember that it is an investment for years.
  7. Leave the gadgets in the living room
The blue light of tablets, phones and even watches harms our sleep. To fall asleep quickly and deeply, say goodbye to all electronic gadgets as early as an hour before going to bed. Also, switch off the television.
  8. Cosy twilight
The bright glow of a bedroom chandelier can confuse our brain, suggesting to the brain that it is daytime. This certainly doesn't make for an easier night's rest. Try to darken the room as much as possible - invest in blinds, hang thick curtains and swap the central light source for a small, atmospheric lamp.
  9. Love the cold
The optimal bedroom temperature should be around 18 degrees Celsius. This may not seem like much, but when we sleep our body heat drops and turning the radiator down for the night will help us fall into a deep sleep. Let's also remember to air the flat in the evening.
  10. Bed yourself!
We have left the most important for last. After all, choosing the right bedding is crucial. The fabric must be soft, airy and pleasant to the touch. Of course, it should also be pretty - it will give the bedroom a unique atmosphere and put us in a great mood.

Sleep among flowers

You will find the largest number of bedding designs in the range of the Italian brand Essenza. Botanical patterns reign supreme, especially the floral bed linen. There are also plain-coloured pillowcases, such as white bed linen. The brand's range is also distinguished by a large selection of sizes, in which you will find both single and double bedding.

Not only bedding...

Our sleep is also influenced by factors beyond our control, such as the phases of the moon. According to scientists, the moon's light will not awaken vampires or evil forces, but it can significantly affect everyone's nightly rest.
