The vases from the Aalvar Aalto collection, named after its creator, are the products that made Iittala a world-famous brand. The first vase in the series was designed in 1936, only to make a great impression at the World Exhibition in Paris a year later. The irregular, organic shape (reminiscent of a puddle to some) and the beauty of the clear, coloured glass, as well as the freedom of use advocated by Aalvar Alto, set the vessel apart from the other products on display. Today, the distinctive line taken from the edge of the vase adorns a number of glass products in the Iittala range with its unique charm, and despite the passage of time, the Alvar Aalto vase collection remains a current and attractive proposition. The set presented here consists of two vases made of transparent glass , 16 and 10 cm high.
