The bowl is cast iron, so it conducts heat well and maintains temperature, but with frying or strong overheating there may be a risk of sticking if the mixture is not stirred or controlled. The product is designed for making cheese fondue, not for frying, so the processing conditions are rather mild (melting rather than browning as in a frying pan). On the other hand, the warranty covers damage resulting from defects in material or workmanship if use has been in accordance with the instructions. It does not cover damage caused by misuse, accidental falls or misuse. The bowl also requires special maintenance.

The chocolate should not be heated directly in the cast iron pot, as it is difficult to control the temperature there. It is best to melt it in another vessel and then gently pour it into the fondue. The cast iron is not resistant to thermal shock - the contents should be heated gradually, avoiding putting cold products into the hot pot and vice versa. The fondue can be used on gas, ceramic, electric and induction hobs, but not in the oven or microwave.
