The Santiago cutlery collection is characterised by maximum simplicity reminiscent of primitive tools. As with the Tonale tableware collection, the austere character is the main feature of the items offered within the series. The extremely ascetic Santiago cutlery is a set created by Sir David Chipperfield, a world-renowned architect who specialises in the design and renovation of galleries and museums (he was the only Briton to be chosen to renovate the Tate Modern). Made of polished stainless steel, the cutlery is available in two finishes: all glossy and one in which the handles have been PVD-coated in black for a translucent anthracite effect. Santiago cutlery, together with Tonale tableware, allows to emphasise the minimalist character of interiors based on both modern materials (glass, concrete, steel) and traditional elements (raw wood in simple forms).
The tablespoon presented here is one of the basic cutlery in the set. The completely glossy surface accompanies the simplicity of the gently tapering handle and the uncomplicated form of the spoon's bowl.
