The extensive Nuovo Milano cutlery collection is a collection of objects for the creation of which Ettore Sottsass and Alberto Gozzi are responsible. The combination of the unique style of what is regarded as one of the fathers of Italian design, Ettore Sottsass, and the expertise of culinary art and savoir-vivre expert Alberto Gozzi, has resulted in a functional, practical and attractive cutlery set. Nuovo Milano gained recognition from the jury of the 15th Compasso d'oro award (1989) and the Bio 12 biennale in Ljubljana (1988). Ettore Sottsass wanted Nuovo Milano cutlery to be reminiscent of stones smoothed by water - indeed, the collection's pieces are based on gentle lines, and all edges (with the exception of the blades, of course) have been heavily rounded. Nuovo Milano cutlery has been manufactured from high quality polished stainless steel. The universal character of the set allows it to be used with both modern and more classic tableware.
