Caronte & Minosse is part of a collection of figurines by Massimo Giacona, created for the A di Alessi catalogue with the 'Divina Commedia', a work by Italian poet Dante Alighieri, in mind. The 'Divina Commedia' series aims to bring the silhouettes of the poem's characters, their fates and the emotions surrounding them to users of modern design. The two hand-decorated porcelain figurines presented here depict the carrier of the damned to hell - the mythical Charon and Minos - sending sinners to the lower circles of hell. Created in the style typical of their designer, Massimo Giacona, the two devilish figures are characterised by playful details and meticulous finishing.
