A glass bowl with a hand-woven structure - both a utilitarian object and a unique object demonstrating the value of increasingly forgotten traditional crafts.
Main features:
- Unique, handmade - a vessel with the structure of authentic, handmade wicker weavings.
- Each bowl is different, this is due to the flexibility of the wicker braid (form) and the freedom of the hands.
- The Wicker bowl is suitable for displaying both foodstuffs (fruit, nuts) and small objects.
- The production of this bowl supports the traditional craft of braiding.
How to use:
- For displaying and storing both foodstuffs (fruit, nuts) and small objects.
Materials used:
- The concept for the production of the bowls was based on an old tradition cultivated in Kashubia, where wicker is used to protect the banks of lakes and houses from water and moisture.
- The designer used the natural qualities of the willow vittles to hold the liquid glass and imprint a unique texture into it. The wicker form of the bowl made by the braider disappears in the process of making the product.
- As a result of the high temperature of the glass, the wicker deforms and burns, leaving the basket texture on the surface of the glass.
Good to know!
- The production of the Wicker bowl demonstrates the value of manual work, showing fingerprints and emotions that reveal provenance and remind us of human resources.
