Tse Cup

The Tsé teacup combines minimalist utility design native to Denmark with an Asian decorative motif based on grooves. The ribbed pattern takes its inspiration from the appearance of disposable dishes commonly used in roadside bars in Taiwan. The combination of this motif with the traditional porcelain structure has resulted in a cup that looks magnificent on any table and in any situation. Thanks to the outwardly extending rim, the cup is easy to grip and to carry from place to place.
The Tsé collection is the result of an international collaboration between the Lyngby brand and the Taiwanese art studio HAN Gallery. The joining of forces has resulted in a series that combines the Danish character of minimalism with the traditional Asian design characteristic of countries in the Far East. During the creation process, the accessories are fired at such high temperatures that they do not need any subsequent glazing - they are simply polished by hand, acquiring an interesting, rough texture. This contrasts with the commonly used smooth porcelain. It is the contrasts in texture that are characteristic of the accessories in this series.
