Product description
Description
Alessi's 7-piece cookware set - 4 pots and 3 lids - is from the Mami collection created in 1999 by Stefano Giovannoni and made of the highest quality 18/10 stainless steel. The thick bottom distributes heat perfectly and is made of aluminium and shiny steel that looks beautiful in any kitchen. The characteristic bulbous shape is a Mediterranean accent that makes cooking with Mami cookware reminiscent of family meals. The pots themselves give an unusually gentle, warm impression, despite being made of steel, which is usually associated with cold. The set comprises a 20 cm (5.5 l) high pot, a 20 cm (3 l) medium pot, a 24 cm (2.5 l) low pot, a 14 cm (0.95 l) saucepan with long handle and 3 lids - 14 cm, 20 cm and 24 cm.

The pots did not live up to my expectations. The lid cannot be lifted without an oven mitt, the handles get very hot. The colour is different to the pictures, it is plain silver, not black, graphite. I would give it back if I could, and I bought at a promotional price.

Beautiful pots! Heavy and solidly made.

Very, very nice. A small minus for functionality: the ears (especially the lids) get too hot. And about the lids: they are opaque, so you have to take them off to monitor the cooking process. Considering the design and the great discounted price, I think it was a good purchase.

Another beautiful Alessi product, fantastic design, excellent steel grade. In my kitchen they look phenomenal and very well match other Alessi items.
More about this product
Pots from the Mami range can be used on gas, induction, ceramic and electric stoves. The cookware can be safely placed in the oven and should not be placed in microwave ovens.
Before first use, the stainless steel cookware should be washed thoroughly with dishwashing liquid and wiped dry.
The cookware can be safely washed in the dishwasher. However, please note that aggressive chlorine-based detergents may damage the surface of the steel.
The cooker should always be placed on a heating medium with a diameter no larger than the diameter of the pot base.
An empty pot should never be left on the burner - this can lead to overheating and damage to the product. Stefano Giovannoni Stefano Giovannoni was born in La Spezia in 1954. He studied architecture in Florence, graduating in 1978 and now lives in Milan. He works in architecture, industrial design and interior design. He teaches at the faculties of architecture in Florence, Milan and Reggio. A characteristic feature of Stefano Giovannoni's work is the streamlined line, which gives the products a uniquely modern look. The variety of colours, intense shades and playful, light patterns create a highly individual and recognisable style.
